Seagate has announced a major milestone in disk density with a new hard disk that can offer up to 2TB of capacity in a 2.5-inch, 7mm Hard Drive. Seagate is also examining a hybrid format as well.

Samsung showed the largest capacity hard drive, a 2.5-inch solid state drive that can hold 16TB (15.36TB, to be exact), which is estimated to cost $7,000. Samsung put 48 of these drives in a server for a total storage capacity of 768 terabytes.
